Essie: Ignite the Night

Tonight is my company’s Christmas party and I decided to paint my nails something sparkly and festive.  This is three coats of Essie’s Ignite the Night from their Encrusted Treasures collection.

The polish is a beautiful silver and gunmetal glitter that is dense enough to be wore alone.  It’s also beautiful as a glitter top coat over a variety of colors.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Gray and Glitter

I used Cirque Colors XX over Julep Erin.  First lets talk about this gray, freaking amazing.  The formula was like butter!  It went on extremely smooth and was basically a one coater.  The formula alone is enough to fall in love with this polish.  Cirque Colors XX is absolutely beautiful as well.  This is two coats over Erin.  It has all different types of holographic glitters.  Square, diamond, hex, small hex, and micro glitters.

I couldn’t stop looking at my nails when I wore this glitter and I received many compliments on it as well.  The polish wore well too.  I didn’t have any chips until four or five days of wear.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Julep: India

I’ve been wearing Julep India on my nails for the last few days. It’s a beautiful metallic blue with green shimmer. Unfortunately the green shimmer doesn’t show up much on the nail or in the pictures.

The formula for this polish was ok. A little thick and gloopy, which made application a little tricky. I had to do my nails twice because the first time around it didn’t dry quickly enough and I smudged multiple nails. The second go around I did thinner coats and it dried faster.

This polish didn’t chip much either. I’ve been wearing it for about 3 days and there is only a little bit around the tips of my right hand, which is my dominant hand. Blue polish is one of my favorites and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint, even with the thick application.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day weekend! I’m about to head to a cook out in just a few to enjoy this last little bit of summer we have left. Stay safe!

Dance Legend: Strutter No. 23

OMG.  This polish is freaking amazing!  They don’t call this collection ‘Wow Prism’ for nothing!  Currently on my nails is Dance Legend Strutter, a gorgeous emerald green holo. Normally I’m not a big fan of green polish, but this color is beautiful and it shimmers like no other.

This color was perfectly opaque in two easy coats.  Can’t get any better than that… well maybe if it was a one coater but still this color! I topped it off with a decent layer of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.  I have a feeling I’m going to get a lot of compliments on this one.  You won’t be able to find this brand in stores, which is based out of Russia, but thankfully http://www.llarowe.com sells them for $13 a pop.  Not too bad.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!  I just started a new job last week and today was the first day I was pretty busy and it felt great!  Until next time…

KB Shimmer: Full Bloom Ahead

Image

KB Shimmer was one of the first indie nail polish brands I tried and I fell in love at first brush stroke.  Her polishes are always slam packed with glitter, which means there isn’t much glitter placement needed to be done. I only had to add a little to my pointer finger because for some reason all of the glitter was concentrated toward the bottom of my nail!  The most recent polish I’ve worn is from the Spring 2014 collection called Full Bloom Ahead.

It is a white crelly polish with deep pink, dark blue, orange, yellow, and teal glitters. As you can see the white crelly is opaque enough in two coats to cover the nail and still allows the glitters to shine through.  Its perfect!  I added one decent coat of Seche Vite dry fast top coat to complete the look!  If you’ve never tried an indie polish before you should definitely check out KB Shimmer! You will not be disappointed!  http://www.kbshimmer.com

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!  Its beautiful here in North Carolina!
